Barehipani waterfall is the highest waterfall in Odisha located within the contour of Similipal Tiger Reserve. The name Barehipani originates from Local name ‘Barehi’ means Ropwhich is how it looks like. The waterfall drops over a wide cliff, in two tiers, ending in a broad pool view. The rolling waterfall drops from a height of 217 mt. (712 ft.) presents a majestic view with reverberating sound in the gorge from where the Budhabalanga river runs to the plain land. Due to heavy rainfall during the monsoon, causing immense waterflow indicates the lack of vegetation which is evidently visible. Olkudar is situated 5 Kms far from Kaliani Gate in the rightside direction close to the olukudar village while entering from the Jashipur end. It’s located just 17km from Jashpur, Mayurbhanj. The cascade falling from a height of 20 meters on rocks and looks very scenic. It’s located outside the Similipal Tiger Reserve & open throughout the year. Best time to visit the waterfall is during winter.
